Digital Extremes Announce New Free To Play Shooter, Warframe [VIDEO]

Digital Extremes is one of the most interesting developers around these days. They tend to take the first person shooter by the scruff of the neck and squeeze some originality out of it, as evidenced in titles like The Darkness II and Dark Sector.

While their forthcoming Star Trek game has impressed many with its focus on coop gameplay, it now seems that it won’t be the only title heading our way soon from the Canadian team. What’s more? The other title they are working on looks like it will cost the equivalent of £0 and 0 pence, which by a quirk of currency exchange is exactly the same as $0 and 0 cents. Yes, that means it will be free.

Titled Warframe, the trailer below is based on early pre-alpha footage of the online game, but it seems like we wont have much longer to wait to see the real multiplayer title in action as reservations are being taken for the beta. Let us know what you think, and if you are interested in free to play titles, or prefer to pay for a AAA experience.
