As dedicated gamers, we all know that Xbox Achievements and PS3 Trophies are cool. Before 2005, nobody had thought that a system that allows you to collect markers for completing tasks in games and use them to compete with friends would be a good idea, but they certainly do now. Of course one thing that would make these virtual medals even better would be if we could somehow use them to obtain something tangible, which is where Raptr has been heading, and now it seems Microsoft could be joining them.
A Tweet was posted by the official XBOX rewards team yesterday which read; “Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!”
Make of that what you will, but allowing gamers to use their gamer score to obtain discounts on (or even give away) Microsoft points, or a Club Nintendo type program where you can obtain exclusive collectibles and wallpapers etc would be a very welcome move. Hopefully, we will know more soon, but how about Sony and Apple follow suit with their PSN trophies and Game Center achievements respectively? Finally all that grinding could pay off! What do you guys think?
