If this latest report about Apple’s next iPhone, the iPhone 5, is accurate, third party manufacturers will be in frenzy. According to TechCrunch, they have seemingly verified that Apple will replace the current 30-pin port in the current iPhones, with a 19-pin port for the iPhone 5.
It’s further stated that,
The new port is similar in size to the Thunderbolt port available on many MacBook devices but I’ve been told by three independent manufacturers that the pin-out will be different. Three independent manufacturers all agreed that the 19-pin dock port is in the works and many accessory manufacturers are facing an uneasy few months as they wait for official news of the standard to be announced.
As stated earlier, this would have third party accessory manufacturers scrambling if true. We’re all about change, but would this be too much? Tell us what you think, because this may very well affect you as well.
