A recent Q&A on the Bethesda blog by co-creative directors Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio has many fans who were excited about the upcoming stealth action game, Dishonored a little worried. In a Q&A on the Bethesda blog it was stated that Arkane Studios has estimated that players will be able to complete the main campaign in Dishonored in 12 hours. That revelation immediately made people worried that the game was going to be ultra short, but there seems to be more to it. And there is.
Harvey Smith said in both the Q&A and again on Twitter that the 12 hour completion time was only if you played straight through, if you played the side missions and really explored then it will probably take you about 24 hours, not ultra long but more than enough time for a game of this type.
The actual focus of the blog was to outline how mana will be used in the game – a small amount of the player’s health will regenerate on its own, to use Blink and Dark Vision powers, but for major spells the potion Piero’s Spiritual Remedy will be needed. There will be six major active powers “plus there are 40 bone charms in the game that grant small supernatural perks. But no one can have all of these things in one playthrough, they said.”
So there you have it folks, you could beat Dishonored in 12 hours if you rushed through and didn’t explore at all but why would you want to do that?
