Nintendo Download: June 14, 2012
It’s a pretty good week to be a Nintendo fan if you’re a 3DS owner. While some recent weeks have been a bit sparse, this week offers 3DS owners an eShop title, a new demo, a new Virtual Console title, and more.
On the eShop is Mad Dog McCree, a game that has been on tons of various platforms, dating all the way back to Laserdisc. It’s campy, it’s funny, and it’s a classic case of something being so bad, it’s good. One word of caution: despite being a 3DS game, there is no 3D in the title to be seen. Let’s hope that this version is good enough to stand on its own. Owning Mad Dog McCree will set you back $7.99.
On Virtual Console this week for $4.99 is Donkey Kong Jr. for the NES. In my opinion, this title is even better than the original Donkey Kong, and thankfully, there is no math to be found. Last but not least, The Amazing Spider-Man gets a free demo on 3DS. While the combat seems a tad convoluted (or maybe that was just my skill), you can really see the effort being put in to make this rival the console experience. The game lands in stores June 26.
Also this week on Wii is Mega Man X2 for Virtual Console, Devil Band – Rock the Underworld on DSi/eShop, and Seven Wonders II, also for DSi/eShop.
