Dead Island: Riptide To Cost $49.99 As “It’s The End Of A Console Cycle”

Dead Island: Riptide will be retailed at $49.99 in the US when it launches instead of the more common $59.99 price tag. Aubrey Norris, marketing and PR manager at Deep Silver, confirmed the cost when asked about it on Twitter by gaming site Ripten who wanted to confirm whether it was just a placeholder or a genuine listing. She also confirmed that the game is a brand new game and not effectively a remake like Capcom did with Dead Rising 2: Of The Record.

Hopefully they will have fixed some gameplay faults that were in the first game

The main reason for the lower price is that Deep Silver believes that the successors to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be close by the time the game is released so they have lowered the cost of the game in order to reflect that. So with little being known about the game after its initial announcement, at least you know that when it does come out you will be able to get it for slightly less than normal.

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. Sports games are my favorite but I still wait for the day that a decent rugby league game hits the PS3. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
