Not everyone is a fan of body parts flying everywhere in video games, even though it’s a small portion of people, a small portion can make unwanted problems for developers. In the interest of not getting Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 banned in Germany, developer City Interactive is allowing gamers the option to download the dismemberment feature in the form of a free DLC pack post launch.
City Interactive looks to release the downloadable content in every region, apart from Germany of course, so no hard feelings surface. Producer Michael Sroczynski told gaming website Joystiq recently:
Dismemberment was removed in retail copies of the game in order to ensure the title would not be banned in Germany.
It is nice to see such drastic changes from the developers to make sure the gamers in Germany wouldn’t be left out of the fun off eradicating foes with high-powered rifles. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 21st, so mark those calendars snipers. Make sure to let us know what you think of the dismemberment feature in the comments below.
