Many gamer’s might not even be half way through their journey of the lands of Skyrim, some might be still chopping logs in Riverwood or climbing the snowy Mount Anthor. With “Dawnguard” set to add even more to the experience, publisher Bethesda has gone and dropped a bombshell for Xbox users, announcing the release date for the upcoming The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim DLC as June 26th.
The date, announced by Game Director Todd Howard on GameTrailers TV, has PlayStation 3 and PC user’s green with envy, Howard saying they wont receive the DLC until a month later, due to the Microsoft exclusive deal set in place.
Dawnguard will add around 10 to 20 hours of new content to the game, while the inclusion of new weapons such as crossbows, as seen in the trailer, will keep those armored trolls at bay. We will also see two new factions come to the fray, the Vampires and the Dawnguard, so expect plenty more quests and of course, the addition of mounted combat.
Dawnguard will have to tie Skyrim fans over until the next installment of downloadable content rears its head, with Bethesda releasing content in expansions rather than small DLC, we can expect the next release not for a least a few months. As for the price, the Dawnguard will set you back 1600 Microsoft Points, but if you have played Skyrim in the last eight months, you know it will be worth every cent. Well that is unless you manage to get into the beta in which case its FREE!!
