Music and video games seem to mix more and more these days, with music genre games flooding the market, we see our favorite music stars everywhere. So imagine our surprise when we heard rapper Snoop Dogg had teamed up with NAMCO BANDAI to offer exclusive content for fighting game “Tekken Tag Tournament 2”.

The rap legend will appear as a non-playable character in “The Snoop Dogg Stage”, which is available to those who pre-order the game. He has also penned a track called “KNOCC ‘EM DOWN”  for the upcoming bash-em up. Snoop Dogg had his own thoughts on the collaboration:

I’ve been a fan of TEKKEN since the 90’s so I’m excited to have made KNOCC ‘EM DOWN for the game’s soundtrack. The game’s got a special stage featuring yours truly sittin’ high above and watching the action take place. All you TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 fans better get ready to experience kickin’ ass on Tha Boss Dogg’s stage with my new song KNOCC ‘EM DOWN banging in the background. What more could you ask for?

Gamers who decide to pre-order the game from Amazon or Best Buy, will receive early access to the first group of DLC characters, Michelle Chang and Angel. Those who pre-order through GameStop will gain exclusive early access to “The Snoop Dogg Stage” plus DLC fighters Kunimitsu and Ancient Ogre, as well as Michelle Chang and Ange. In the interest of saving a buck, I would go with the second one.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this September and the Wii U sometime in the Winter. If you want to get a better look at the hip-hop icon in-game, with the new song also included,  the trailer can be viewed below.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
