Dead Or Alive 5 Gets A Release Date And Trailer

The guys at TECMO KOEI America have given fans a release date for upcoming fighting game Dead or Alive 5, the game in development at Team Ninja, will be hitting stores on September 25th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Along with the announced release date, a trailer for the game was also shown recently at E3.

The series was on somewhat of a hiatus, with the last game in the series releasing in 2006, many fans are excited about the return of franchise. The game will also see the inclusion of Sarah Bryant and previously announced, Akira Yuki from the Virtua Fighter series as a playable characters and will be set in various locations around the world.

The development team at Team Ninja had this to say about the upcoming title, “Our team is focused on making September 25th a special ‘DOA Day’ for all fans of intense martial arts combat. As we approach the finish line for development of Dead Or Alive 5, it’s exciting to see all the signature characters, fighting styles, and destructive fighting stages come together to create a powerful Dead Or Alive experience.”

An excerpt from press release for the game gives a more solid description of the fighting style and character roster the game will have:

Dead or Alive incorporates a variety of martial arts fighting techniques into its distinctive fighting style to create a new generation of intense Dead or Alive combat. In the game, players will once again take on the roles of the cast of Dead or Alive fighters in an action-packed brawler set in visually striking locations from around the world. The famed Dead or Alive hand-to-hand combat returns in DOA5, supported by new 3D stages that incorporate a fresh look and feel. As a fight progresses, the dynamic backdrops will be altered and skilled fighters will be able to use the changing environment to their strategic advantage.

Dead or Alive 5 promises to be the most outrageous game in the series so far, the trailer released at E3 shows over the top combo’s with cinematic events between fights, very impressive indeed.
