Dead Space 3 Will Include Co-Op, Competitive Multiplayer Is No More
Dead Space 3 will discontinue the not so lovable competitive multiplayer that Dead Space 2 used, instead developer Visceral Games is now focusing on introducing drop in/dropout co-op gameplay. This according to a NeoGaf Forums user who got a hold of the latest issue of Game Informer Magazine and posted the details.
Along with the addition of co-op gameplay, the game will see a host of other features. Gamers can combine different weapons, such as the Plasma Cutter and Ripper to create unique combination guns. Unitologists pose a threat now and will also use cover when attempting to blow Issac Clarke to pieces. Dead Space 3 will have zero gravity space sections, dark corridors, along with a host of new dangerous enemies. Co-Op will also add new cut scenes and interactions between Isaac and Carver. The game also looks set to implement a new cover system which we are sure will have hard core fans screaming bloody murder.
Who is Carver you ask? John Carver is a fellow engineer from the planet Uxor who looks set to be Issac’s co-op teammate in Dead Space 3. Carver will have his own rig with a darkly red glow, which makes him look more villain then side-kick hero, don’t trust him already. Visceral Games has revealed that the storyline this time around will be less linear and will allow the gamer to enjoy optional side-missions. Visceral still has a lot of work left to do until the game releases in 2013, but already it is looking very promising.
Make sure you lock your eyes on to Electronic Art’s E3 press conference this evening for information about the upcoming survival horror.
