Alan Wake 2 Hinted But No Show At Microsoft Conference

It seems at least one hotly tipped Xbox exclusive didn’t make it as far as the Microsoft conference today. A tweet from Sam Lake the creative director of developer Remedy had indicated that we may get to see Alan Wake 2, but now it seems the game may be shown at a later date.

Lake posted the following tweet that seemed almost guaranteed to link in with the Alan Wake franchise: “It’s all true. It will happen again, in another town, a town called Ordinary.’ Lake then posted a link to an online blog full of photos and comments written by a woman called ‘Sammantha’ who hints at both Alan himself and Thomas Zane, a central figure in the games narrative.

Surely this seems like way too much of a coincidence not to have been leading to a reveal of a new game in the series, probably Alan Wake 2. It does seem strange then that no mention of the game was made during Microsoft’s lackluster conference. Maybe they are saving the big news for another day, or perhaps even Alan Wake 2 will be a launch title for the next Xbox console? Time will tell.
