Fans of shooter Battlefield 3 have a lot to look forward to in the leading months.
Three Four Five expansion packs have been announced, with the second scheduled expansion pack “Close Quarters” expected this month. “Armored Kill”, the third expansion pack, has itself a September release window. We also have the last pack, End Game, which is set for release some time in the winter, according to Electronic Arts.
Armored Kill will see a range of new vehicles added to the game, with new tanks, jets, ATV’s, helicopters and mobile artillery units all making the cut. Considering the amount of ground one can cover with a vehicle, the map sizes will be greater than one’s in other expansions. With that said, DICE will add the biggest map in Battlefield history to the pack, just showing how powerful the Frostbite 2.0 engine really is.
Armored Kill and Close Quarters will both feature at E3, with playable versions available, so keep your eyes out for that. We also have the details of the Battlefield Premium service to look forward too, with the expansion packs and subscription service all being explained, gamer’s will have a better sense of what their hard-earned cash is going towards.
All together Electronic Arts are in for the long run with downloadable content, but will it keep people interested? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
