Even two years after its release, Sports Champions is still one of the best reasons to buy a PlayStation Move. Its pin-sharp accuracy made playing table tennis and Frisbee a joy, and it introduced the world (well, the 99.9% that had never heard of it!) to Bocce. Rejoice then, because Sony has confirmed that a sequel is on its way, due for release this autumn, or fall if you insist.
Taking perhaps a more mainstream approach than its predecessor, the second game will introduce Skiing, Boxing, Tennis, Golf and Bowling as well as updating the Archery mode that was featured in the first game. Despite the slightly lackluster line-up of sports, the Sports Champions version of each will doubtless be amongst the best digital representations yet seen.
San Diego Studio and Zindagi Games have promised a fully featured single player mode, as well as improvements to the Move calibration system and a party play mode that sees you involving all of your friends and family in the workout.
The screenshots certainly look impressive and this should be one to watch if you are a Move owner looking for something new after Sorcery. I cant help but wish we had seen some interesting new sports however, surely everyone is sick of motion controlled Bowling and Tennis by now?
