Of all the gaming announcements and reveals that we know are coming out of E3 this year, perhaps the most anticipated is Quantic Dream’s next game. We have heard that the next piece of gaming art to be released from the French developer is to be shown during the Sony conference, and now Kotaku contributor ‘Superannuation’ has dug up some information that suggests the game will be called Infraworld.
If you remember a while ago, this was one of the rumoured titles for the game and was teased in an easter egg during Heavy Rain, the studios last release. Another rumoured name for the game was Fiv5 and both are expected to take place in a more futuristic world than Heavy Rain, also given the content of the technology demo ‘Kara’ released a while back.
Superannuation has uncovered a biography for a French actress that suggests she is working on a Quantic Dream project due for release next year. He also mentioned a job advert for Quantic Dream mentioning both Fiv5 and Infraworld as late as 2011. The original Infraworld was apparently canned back in 2006, way before Heavy Rain was even released.
All this is just conjecture for now, but it is certainly possible that both titles are in development with one perhaps to be a PS4 launch title late next year. Certainly the fact that Quantic Dream is hiring now for ‘current and future generation consoles’ make this a distinct possibility. More at E3!
