Max Payne 3 Finally Arrives On PC

Rejoice PC gamers, your time of neglect has come to an end, as Max Payne 3 is now available worldwide to buy for PC, both digitally or from your local retail outlets. Fans can now jump back into the bullet dodging action they used to experience when the game was first released on PC back in 2001.

Max Payne 3 tells the story of former New York City detective with a heavy case of depression, Max Payne. His life in ruins and unable to move on from the death of his wife and child, Max looks for a new start working private security with an old friend in São Paulo, Brazil. Eventually it all goes to hell and you’re fighting your way through baddies, left, right and center.

Rockstar Games have given the lowdown on what the PC version of the game offers in a recent press release:

Developed in parallel with the critically acclaimed console versions, Max Payne 3 for PC delivers the ultimate Max Payne 3 experience, supporting a wide range of PC specifications, plus advanced graphics options, scalable high-resolution textures and character models, DirectX11 features, LAN support, multi-monitor support and stereoscopic 3D compatibility.

Rockstar explained that the rather large 35GB install on the PC is because of its “no compromise” approach to this version of the game, which holds textures four times greater than those seen on consoles. So expect even the smallest blade of grass to look like the real ones growing out in your front garden.

If you decide not to agree, then hopefully the trailer below can sway your decision. If not make sure to check our review for Max Payne 3 on consoles as well. Happy bullet dodging everyone!

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
