Back during the Millennium when it was known as the Greenwich Dome, the O2 arena in London was a bit of a white elephant. Fast forward 5-10 years or so though and the venue became the place in London to see the hottest and biggest bands and shows. Nowadays the name O2 arena is synonymous with entertainment, something Sony is hoping to have a slice of.
Sony has partnered with the O2 to create a ‘PlayStation Certified Gaming Zone’ within the venue, kitted out with the latest Bravia TV’s, PS3’s and Vita consoles. Exclusive content from Sony Music and Sony Pictures rounds out the content which will push Sony into the forefront of entertainment in the capital of the UK ahead of the Olympic Games this summer.
Matt Coombe who is the head of marketing at Sony said about the announcement: “The Official Screen Partnership with The O2 represents a true Sony United showcase of our best technology, content and brand experiences, and a platform via which Sony’s full entertainment proposition can be most effectively demonstrated to our customers. Sony’s connected devices offer a much richer experience for our customers and, combined with some of the best content available, that experience also looks and sounds better than ever before.”
