No game is more anticipated more than Halo 4, with 343 Industries taking over developing duties from long servants Bungie, many are excited to see what direction they take the first person shooter. To add to the ever growing excitement, unconfirmed leaked footage from the game ended up on YouTube recently, the weirdest leaked footage I think to ever grace the Internet.
The video found by NeoGaf , isn’t your predictable leaked video, if anything it’s something straight from the stone age. It starts with a man inserting a VHS tape into a TV that’s sitting on a hay bale, yes people you read that sentence correctly. This is happening while really loud obnoxious music plays and the TV shows gameplay that might indeed be Halo 4. Even though the footage is grainy and hard to see, it doesn’t look like Halo 3 or Halo: Reach however, so could indeed be Halo 4.
Microsoft got in touch with Kotaku about the video and they said:
We are conducting an internal beta test of Halo 4 which is a standard development practice for most video games. We have no plans for a public multiplayer beta for Halo 4.
The person who uploaded the video goes by the name of Skid Kid and has managed to reach the 100,000 view mark in a matter of days. The user also left a Twitter link in the video description, the users account makes it even more strange. E3 2012 is nearly upon us and given the video has not been removed, maybe they want to keep it up as a marketing stunt of some sort. Still doesn’t explain the VHS tape though, very old school.
