XCOM FPS Delayed Again, Possibly Into 2014

As you may recall, there are currently two remakes of the PC strategy classic XCOM underway at 2K games. The first will take the form of a squad based tactical strategy game and is closest to the roots of the original isometric game. The other game is probably the one you have heard most about, and will be a shooter prequel set during the 1960’s.

Although the strategy title is still due for release later this year, the shooter has now been delayed until at least mid to late 2013. Titled simply XCOM, the shooter was announced in 2010 and had already been delayed into 2013. A fiscal report from 2K Games now places the release sometime in ‘fiscal year 2014’ which runs from April 2013 to March 2014.

When it finally sees the light of day, XCOM will be released for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. That is if the 360 and PS3 are still around by the time the game goes gold of course…
