This one has to be set firmly in the rumor category for now but a forum post on an Italian website by someone who is “supposedly” an Ubisoft developer indicates that Assassin’s Creed 3 will in fact be coming to the PlayStation Vita. The thread itself covers numerous alleged details about Nintendo’s and Ubisoft’s plans for the Wii U, but does in fact mention that AC3 will be “playable” on the PS Vita. Now this isn’t completely out of left field since Ubisoft confirmed that the PlayStation Vita would be getting an Assassin’s Creed game way before the handheld even launched. At the time, Ubisoft said it would be based on a new story and characters. That was last year and way before Assassin’s Creed 3 was announced.
The interesting one on this is that the post says that it will be “playable”, that actually has two possible implications. This could mean that Ubisoft is in fact working on a brand new PlayStation Vita specific version of AC3 or it could simply mean that it will have some sort of capability to leverage the Vita’s MIA Remote Play feature but who would want that?
So there you have it, Assassin’s Creed 3 might be making its way to the PlayStation Vita? But is that would you would like to see or would you rather see a completely brand new and Vita specific Assassin’s Creed title? Hit up the comments and let us know.
