Games being delayed is a horrible experience for any gamer. With all the hype from marketing a big game and filling fans with the excitement of a child who just realized what Christmas is, it’s never nice to hear the words delay. Well, I apologize in advance then, as heavyweight Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance could be delayed until 2013 according to retailer Amazon UK.
The title in development at Platinum Games, will follow the story of former agent Raiden who is to be encountered by cyborg enemies while aiding in the rebuilding of an unknown country. It has been marketed vigorously by Konami, with many live-action and gameplay trailers released since it’s announcement at E3 2009.
With Amazon listing the game for release on February 28th 2013, it’s believable, as retailers get the release date early for display and shipping priorities. On the other hand though, the date lands on a Thursday, which isn’t the usual release date for games in North America, they would usually hit retail on a Tuesday and Friday if in Europe. More than likely its just a holder but the change in listing says something.
With E3 2012 nearly upon us, maybe Konami will shed some light on the recent delay rumors, maybe show-off some new gameplay or leave it completely until the Tokyo Game Show held in September. With all the rumors, Revengeance could indeed become one of many big games to fall victim to a 2013 release date.
