One of the benefits to owning a PS3 as opposed to some – ahem – OTHER consoles, is that every PS3 contains a hard drive of some sort. That means that developers can rely on the hard drive as well as the blu-ray to make sure things run that bit smoother. That is how it’s supposed to work anyway. For every game that makes good use of this system to reduce loading times and in-game stutters, there are just as many games that demand a massive portion of your hard drive space with no discernible benefit. Let’s hope that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier falls into the first camp, with a massive 6.5GB install.
The news comes courtesy of German gaming site Playfront, translated by our multilingual pal Google. So, for those of you with 40GB (or even 20GB – cant believe they ever made them so small!) hard drives that are struggling for space, get deleting. Luckily I’m the proud owner of a 320GB model, with bags of space still left, Not that I’m boasting or anything, honest.
