It’s no secret guys, Apple’s next iPhone, likely called the iPhone 5, will launch this year with much anticipation for “change”. Of the things being debated, most would agree that a larger screen size and 4G LTE connectivity are at the top of the list. Fortunately, as it appears from multiple reports, this may be exactly what we get in the iPhone 5. Moreover, this could have been Steve Jobs last hoorah before he left his daily duties at Apple.
As reported by Bloomberg,
Apple Inc. (AAPL) is preparing to overhaul the look of its iPhone, three people with knowledge of the plans said, refreshing the company’s top-selling product amid competition from rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co. (005930).
Apple, based in Cupertino, California, has placed orders from suppliers in Asia for screens that are bigger than the 3.5- inch size now on the smartphone, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public. Apple co-founder Steve Jobs had worked closely on the redesigned phone before his death in October, one person said.
Additionally, it has already been reported by multiple analysts that the next iteration will have 4G LTE connectivity. This plays perfectly into what we all figured Apple would do – Perfect the technology without much compromise, and have a LTE landscape where customers would benefit.
All in all, losing Steve Jobs in the tech world will have negative effects that we’ll probably never fully know. That said, knowing that there may be at LEAST one more device that he had intimate dealings with, gets us a little more excited. Could this be the answer for Samsung’s momentum at the moment? We shall see.
