The Playstation Vita has had a bunch of top games grace its screens since it’s release back in February. Well the list is about to get longer with news that the, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be making its way to the handheld, with North American fans picking it up first on June 12th.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was first released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011 and was well received by fans. The collection included Metal Gear Solid 2Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3Snake Eater and Metal Gear SolidPeace Walker. The Vita version will hold three of the four, with Metal Gear Peace Walker not making the cut for unknown reasons.

With the release of the collection, each gamer will find a code that will allow them to download the original Metal Gear Solid in stunning HD, so there is something to fill the void Peace Walker will leave. As for the core gameplay, not much has changed from the console version. You can still interrogate enemies, look around corners, cycle through weapons and perform fast knife attacks, only difference being it’s all in 720p.

Some other features include, the ability to transfer save files from your Playstation 3 onto the Vita. If Konami was to add support for PSN Trophies, the transition from console to handheld would be near perfect. With the way the Vita is selling at the moment, Sony needs a big hitter and this HD collection might be their home run.

Are you going to buy the HD Collection? Let us know in the comments below!

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
