Konami has released yet another live-action teaser trailer, possibly the last for upcoming title Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The game, which is expected to be released this year, will be the second outing as Raiden, the first being Metal Gear: Sons of Liberty which was released in 2001.
The teaser trailer titled “Make It Right – Sword” starts with scientists and doctors assembling what will soon be our slash and bash hero, then cutting to a scene where a young man finds himself strapped to a chair and tortured for tactical information as a young Raiden is forced to watch. An unknown man whom many believe to be Soldus Snake intervenes with a small blade, explaining to Raiden the tactical and honorable use of a blade in combat, then begins torturing him with it.
The trailer ends with Raiden (in his electro-ninja form) lying down on an operating table, then being handed the sword gamers will learn to be creative with come release. The trailer then cuts to the number sequence “01000101 00110011”, before fading to black.
The game is being developed by Platinum Games and is a far cry from the usual Metal Gear Solid story lines, Konami is obviously trying to make a standalone title. We can expect to see more of the title come the publishers pre-E3 conference in two weeks time.
