Microsoft Planning To Launch A $99 Xbox 360 Bundle, But There Is A Catch

These latest rumors indicate that Microsoft is planning to release a $99 Xbox console package as early as next week that will require a $15 monthly subscription, according to a source. This $99 Xbox will come with a 4GB console and Kinect.  It appears that a two-year subscription will be required and it will get you Xbox Live Gold and possibly some additional streaming content, possibly from cable providers or sports package providers. If you sign-up for the deal you will also be covered under a two-year warranty.

Be sure you want this one though, because just like your cell phone there will be an early termination fee if you want to break your contract before two years is up. The source went on to indicate that it is Microsoft’s intention to position the package as a competitor to Apple TV, Roku, and the PS3.

At this point this is still just a rumor but its an intriguing one. So for all the folks out there at either own 360’s already or are considering buying one what do you think? Is this a good idea or does Microsoft just not get it? Hit up the comments and let us know what you think.
