Android And Samsung Still On Top Of Smartphone Market Through Q1 2012

The numbers are out for the first quarter of 2012, and Android and Samsung are still on top when it comes to U.S. market share. Google’s Android platform actually gain 3.7% to now hold 51% of the platform market, while Samsung gained 0.7% for 26% of the total OEM share.

Looking at all platforms, following Google (Android) are Apple (30.7%), RIM (12.3%), Microsoft (3.9%), and Symbian (1.4%). On the OEM side, following Samsung are LG (19.3%), Apple (14.0%), Motorola (12.8%), and HTC (6%).
