No Wii U Pricing Or Launch Date At E3 2012

I swear Nintendo is just trying to disappoint half their fans and piss the other half off. During an investor’s briefing earlier today, global president Satoru Iwata dropped the bombshell that Nintendo does not plan to reveal any pricing or exact launch dates for their new system during E3 2012. Iwata did reiterate and confirm that the Wii U will in fact debut this year in Japan, the United States, Europe and Australia. This isn’t the first time Nintendo has done something like this though, remember the 3DS reveal? Nintendo revealed that system and showed of a ton of games but gave no specific launch plans or pricing info and waited until a few months before they launched the handheld to finally release that info.

I’m sorry, I just think that this demonstrates how much Nintendo doesn’t get it. E3 is the biggest gaming event on the planet and they have a chance to completely dominate it and drum up major excitement¬† for their new console and they seem to be blowing it. But hey that could just be us, do you guys mind not finding out pricing and launch plans until shortly before launch?¬† Truth be told though, I don’t think it can come in over $299, if it does and doesn’t have largely superior specs to the PS3 and Xbox 360 I think they are in for a world of trouble.

Hit up the comments and let us know what you think.
