God of War: Ascension Announced, Kratos Makes His Return [TRAILER]

After Amazon leaked the game and a reveal trailer last night, Sony has officially announced God of War: Ascension. God of War: Ascension will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3. Sorry to all of you that were hoping it would be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 (Orbis). The game appears to be a prequel that focuses on Kratos before the events that lead to him becoming the Ghost Of Sparta and that’s a story that probably needs to be told. Retailers are currently listing it with a tentative release date of December 31, 2013, but that’s more than likely a placeholder. The folks at Sony also released a teaser trailer that you can check out below.

If that’s not enough for you, Sony invites you to tune into the PlayStation and God of War: Ascension on Facebook on Monday, April 30th at 8am Pacific Time for a live streaming event that will give you a glimpse of what’s in store for God of War: Ascension.

After the ending to God Of War III, many players were probably expecting a new chapter but I doubt any of them will complain about getting some more Kratos action. The balancing act that Sony has in front of them is telling the story of a mere man and making it as epic as the story about the mortal turned God turned mortal who not only defied the Gods but won. Should be a hell of a time.
