Gaming site Kotaku has reported that some of its sources have revealed that developer Zipper Interactive is set to close. Zipper is well-known for its multiplayer shooters on PS2 and PS3 including the SOCOM games, MAG, and recent Vita release Unit 13.
Before being bought out by Sony back in 2006 they had been responsible for some equally well-loved PC games like Mechwarior 3 and Crimson Skies. According to the Kotaku sources, there have been recent redundancies at the studio, and a large project has also been cancelled.
We will bring you more news on this story as and when we hear anything further, but fingers crossed that one of the premier Sony studios remains open, both for the gamers that play their titles and of course the employees themselves.
