The folks over at Sony have confirmed that Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus will in fact be a launch title for the PlayStation Vita. Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is one of those games that isn’t Dead Souls frustrating but it can get you pretty riled up from time to time. The Vita version introduces Hero Mode which helps automates some blocking and dodging which should allow you to focus more on actually enjoying the awesome experience you are having.
From a presentation standpoint, the game isn’t Uncharted Golden Abyss but it does look pretty damn good to say its an 8 year game. Team Ninja has also added several new features to leverage the Vita’s hardware including six axis arrow shooting and touchscreen prompts to enhance your Ninpo magic attacks. The controls can be a bit hard to get used to in the first person view, but luckily that’s optional and you can go third person if that’s more comfortable for you. The visual upgrades and improved controls are nice but the biggest addition has to be the new Ninja Challenge mode. Ninja Challenge mode is a series of trials that can be completed in just a few minutes, perfect for gaming on the go. There are a whooping 76 of these such missions and the goal is very simple, perform whatever simple challenge you are presented with. This could vary from clearing a certain amount of enemies, defeating a boss character or engaging in some weapon specific objective. It is also in this mode that you can use alternate character Rachel, and try out new costumes and weapons that you might not have earned at that point in the story mode.
The original Ninja Gaiden Sigman hit PS3 before they came up with PSN trophies ( I know seems like they have always been there), but have no fear because Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus delivers those as well.
