Nothing screams “I’m a hardcore gamer!” louder than a lovely set of headphones, and Steelseries make some of the hottest ones out there. Whilst some of us mere mortals make do with a rubbish set of in-ear ‘phones which wouldn’t look out of place in 1991, check out these latest babies from the peripheral manufacturer.
The lovely looking piece of kit above is the Siberia v2 Frost Blue Headset. It features LED lights which you can tinker with through the built-in software, along with a noise cancelling microphone and grey leather cushions to make your ears comfier than your backside.
Jacob Wolff-Petersen., the founder of SteelSeries said, “The Siberia v2 Frost Blue combine’s incredible sound with a style that is not only recognized, but is an original design that’s been optimized and improved. This headset packs a loud and crisp soundscape with the expected luxury for the user to be able to adjust everything – from illumination options, equalizer settings to creating and assigning profiles for multiple game titles and players, all through the SteelSeries Engine software.”
As well as this luxurious set of headphones designed for the home, SteelSeries are also planning to release a more compact model based around LAN parties and laptop play. The Flux headset features earcups designed to fold away when not being used to conserve space in a laptop bag for example.
Both heaphones are due for launch in Q2 this year (April to June in other words) and are compatible with PC and Mac computers as well as unspecified ‘mobile devices’. Pricing and other details will be announced closer to launch. Better get saving!
