Late to the party or not, AT&T is launching their 4G LTE service, and expects to have the service rolled out completely by the end of 2013. On yesterday, AT&T took care of some long overdue business – like rolling out 4G LTE in New York City. In addition to the Big Apple receiving 4G LTE, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Chapel Hill, Oakland, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Diego and San Jose all received the service as well.
Honestly, I can’t remember the rollout of 3G, but I doubt if it was as aggressive and marketed as 4G LTE (maybe I’m wrong). However, I love the commitment and rate at which all carriers are deploying the service – some more than others. Now if we can only get devices that utilize the technology properly without destroying battery life.
