Skype Gifts Free WiFi To PC, Mac, And iOS Owners For The Holidays … Over 50 U.S. Airports, But No Love For Android
Listen up holiday travelers! Skype has announced that they will be offering one free hour of WiFi access at select airports this holiday season between December 21st and December 27th. The free service will be available for users at over 50 airports in the United States, and allow users to connect through Skype video or voice call.
Skype WiFi will be accessible on PC’s, Macs, and iOS devices. According to the release, “To get started make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of Skype for Windows or Skype for Mac, or have downloaded the Skype WiFi app on your iOS device. Once you have signed in with a valid Skype ID, check your wireless network connection to see if you are in a supported hotspot. It’s that simple.”
Sadly, Android users will not be able to enjoy the free service. This sucks, but it’s the landscape at the moment. Hopefully, Google addresses this with their own free WiFi announcement similar to their offering on last year.
