NBA 2K12 First Roster Update Is Now Live

As we count down the clock to the start of the NBA season, 2K Sports has finally released its first roster update for NBA 2K12. The update isn’t much to holler about though, with very few of the moves that have happened so far being reflected and only 4 rookies added. As far as moves that you will notice, Brandon Roy has been removed from the Blazers due to his injury-related retirement and along with all those players still stuck in China. We see that Shane Battier has been moved to the Heat, Caron Butler is now on the Clippers, Tyson Chandler has found his way to the Knicks and Tracy McGrady is now an Atlanta Hawk. The players formally known as Ron Artest has been updated to Metta World Peace and though the PA announcer gets it right, the commentators still refer to him by his former name. I guess it was too expensive to get those announcers back in.

Now the bad news, the update misses a large amount of moves that have already happened including Lamar Odom’s surprising move to the Dallas Mavericks and David West to the Indiana Pacers just to name a few. None of the bigger rookies like Jimmer Fredette and Kemba Walker have been added either. We can only hope that this is just a pre-emptive update and that a larger and more comprehensive update will follow in a few days.
