Batman: Arkham City was one of the best games we’ve played this year, a must play if you haven’t already. But alas, there have been issues, though up until now they have been primarily focused to the DLC and issues related to that. Now it seems that a serious glitch has appeared on the Xbox 360 version of the game that is reported to be costing gamers a serious amount of playtime. The glitch appears to be corrupting the player’s save file and once that happens the game doesn’t even recognize that there is a save file. As you can imagine, gamers are pissed and the 21 pages worth of comments on the game’s official forum tell the story.
At this point, there doesn’t seem to be a trick or workaround once players are hit with the issue. Warner Bros. is aware of the issue and is said to be working on a fix but if it is truly a corrupted file that the players have experienced I have some serious doubts as to whether WB can do anything to fix it or extract enough data to allow players to only lose some data. Batman: Arkham City is an excellent game to be sure but even I am not sure I’d want to play it all the way over after putting several hours into it. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one.
