Call Of Duty: Elite is still suffering from the effects of being overwhelmed by all of you guys jumping on and crushing all of Activision’s capacity so lots of you are probably still having trouble registering or logging into it at this point. That sucks but it isn’t all bad, at least not for your premium Call Of Duty: Elite members anyway. The good news for everyone is that even though the service is not working the way it should on the front end, it is apparently functioning properly on the backend so it’s capturing all that damage you guys are currently doing, it knows about your longest killstreak and the time you killed those two guys with that one bullet.
But on to the good stuff, for all of you folks that spent your hard-earned money on the Elite tier of Call Of Duty, Activision has announced that you will receive a 30 day extension on your year subscription in order to make amends for the rocky start. In terms of response time, this isn’t bad since the service has been pretty inconsistent since Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launched on Tuesday and they are making this move only two days later, this is much better than we have gotten from most companies when they have run into issues like this.
So Activision is working to get the service up to snuff but it could be a while and until that time Activision will be limiting access to the service via the web and console applications, with priority going to paid members. While I think this is a good move on Activision part, I still am of the position that this should have never happened and they should have been prepared for this kind of response, this is Call Of Duty for god’s sake, you know, the biggest freaking game on the planet!!
