PS3 Sales Closing In On Xbox 360, Will Sony Win In The End Again?

Share And Comment

This one is going to set the fanboys off but according to Sony’s latest updates on the number of PS3’s sold, the gap between PS3 sales and Xbox 360 sales is closing and closing fast. Sony’s PS3 has sold 56 million units worldwide, while Microsoft has sold 57.3 million. At this rate, PS3 should catch up to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 pretty soon here. It looks like Sony’s late start in North America and really late start in Europe and Japan didn’t hurt it at all since they are having huge success in those regions, though North America still remains an issue for them vs the Xbox 360.

While lot of folks didn’t believe it, it seems that  Sony’s predictions may just come true. From the start, Sony has always had the position that in the end its PS3 would reign supreme and it looks like in the end they may just be right.
