Have We Seen GTA 5 Before And Just Didn’t Know It?

So there is a great story behind this one and it could absolutely be possible. A guy named Jim Jagger used to be a principle animator at Sony London and one of the last things he worked on there was a game that was ultimately cancelled called “8 Days”. This is the game that is causing all the fuss based on some footage of it that recently resurfaced, we have to be honest it does have a GTA IV “feel”. In 2009, Jagger made the jump over to Rockstar North to be the lead animator on a ‘TBA” project which folks now believe was and is Grand Theft Auto V. That’s a year after GTA IV came out so it lines up in terms the total production time for a GTA title. He also provided some support to another one of Rockstar’s hits, L.A. Noire.

The game I mentioned earlier, Eight Days, was a cover-based shooter with a combat mechanic similar to GTA IV but also featured a co-op adventure involving a lot of tactical coordination between the two characters during gunfights (i.e. characters throwing guns to each other, spinning around and over each other to cover each other, etc). With all that stuff lining up, it’s not a stretch to believe that he is taking the concepts from Eight Days and amping those up a couple thousand notches for GTA  5. Jagger reportedly has a lot of PS3 experience and that could mean that it will be the lead platform for GTA V but that has yet to be confirmed. We get our first look at the new Grand Theft Auto in just a few days and hopefully we get more game details then. Stay tuned.
