Sprint began selling iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 in Sprint retail stores nationwide this morning at 8:00am local time. Sprint is the only U.S. carrier to offer new and existing customers the iPhone experience with unlimited data plans starting at just $79.99 per month. It seems that Dan Hesse’s huge bet on the iPhone just might prove to be one of smartest moves the company has ever made and may just save Sprint from becoming irrelevant in the cell phone game.
Fared Adib, Sprint Product Chief just released this statement:
“Sprint today reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history with the launch of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. We reached this milestone at approximately noon CT/1pm ET. The response to this device by current and new customers has surpassed our expectations and validates our customers’ desire for a truly unlimited data pricing plan.”
I guess this is game on Verizon and AT&T. Now all we need to do is see the actual numbers to do some proper comparison.
