A Casual Gamer’s Battlefield 3 Guide To Survival

Now that the Battlefield 3 beta has wrapped up, I feel that now is a good a time as any to toss out some key tips for survival from a casual gamer’s point of view.

First thing we the “Casual Gamer” must remember when playing Battlefield 3 is that it is not Call Of Duty. If you can get this through your thick-headed, run and gun skull, you might actually live longer than thirty seconds in-game. Teamwork is your friend….and if you have no friends hurry up and get some. Your gonna need them. If nobody likes you in real life then be sure to join a squad in-game when you have that option.

Playing on a server by yourself and not in a squad pretty much sucks. It’s like talking to my wife about last weeks Vikings game, only to see that dumbfounded look on her face as if she has no clue as to what I just said to her. It’s annoying as hell!

Let’s assume you’ve joined a squad in game…chose a load-out that can actually help your squad and gain you some points at the same time. Don’t be a sniper. People hate snipers. More so if you’re a casual gamer who can’t aim. Choose the support class and drop some ammo for your team….and the points come rolling in.

Work with one weapon and get some attachments. If your anything like me, you suck with iron sights. At least earn yourself a red dot sight for your gun. After you’ve done that with one weapon and you feel confident….make the bold move to another weapon.

I could go on and on about how to survive and have fun with BF3 but I guess it all boils down to one thing and one thing only. If you’re a casual gamer like myself, just have fun with it and don’t listen to what people like me have to say.

But what do I know? I’m just a 46-year-old casual gamer who avoids his family when he has the chance.
