OK, so I admit that headline was ever so slightly misleading, but still accurate. As well as the twenty or so launch games created specifically for Vita, Sony has also promised that over 600 PSP games will also be available for purchase and download through PSN, and of course if you have already bought them once they will be immediately added to your games library.
Several of these games will also be retooled to work with the second analog stick, with Resistance: Retribution being specifically named. The combination of new controls and sharper screen should bring a new lease of life to some of these older games.
Sony is also said to be ‘working’ on a solution for gamers who own previous PSP titles on UMD as well, although if that goes the way of the same announcement made prior to the launch of the PSP Go, then expect these comments to be swiftly forgotten. There are titles as well, most famously Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, that were never released on the digital format. Hopefully at some point this excellent title will find its way to the PSN store.
