One way to turn the tides on any type of war would be to get more and better weapons. And this latest move proves that Google is readying its’ Android platoon with the necessary weaponry to win the battles, and the war. Yesterday, reports surfaced about a patent transaction that occurred on August 17th of this year. According to the report listed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s website, Google acquired 1,023 patents from IBM. This was later confirmed by a Google Spokesperson.
Of course this is to battle with the likes of Microsoft and Apple, who have Android manufacturers in a bad position. Looking back at some recent transactions, Google acquired 1,030 patents back in July from IBM, and they will receive over 17,000 from the Motorola acquisition. Maybe with all of these patents in their arsenal, the tides might turn. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out. Thoughts?
