Logan Carter

BIOS:
A former American football star, spoiled by life and successful in every possible way, Logan’s ego finally put an end to his bright future. Taking part in a reckless street race with tragic consequences, Logan not only killed a young woman – his unfortunate passenger; he also fractured his knee, putting an end to his sports career. His fall from stardom inevitably followed and he plunged swiftly into a life of bitterness and despair. In an attempt to get away from the demons hunting him, he gladly takes the chance to experience the beauties and wonders of Banoi. Soon enough though the getaway he was dreaming about turns into a real life nightmare…

Playing As Logan

Logan is an interesting character to say the least. He can fulfill primarily the damage group role, and he has two ways of accomplishing this. One being ranged combat, and the other melee, particularly single-handed weapons melee. When we say ranged your mind may immediately jump to firearms, but guns are not Logan’s strong suite. His prefered method to dispatch enemies at range is by throwing melee weapons at them. If you like fighting in the mid to close range, this may be your guy.

During my time playing Logan I primarily used one-handed weapons, and opted not to put too many points into his melee throwing talents, for a few reasons. The number one reason for this, was my initial glance of the survival tree boomerang ability, led me to believe that there was a chance I would lose my thrown weapon, however that is not the case. The boomerang ability or talent as it were, will return the item to your hand without you having to retrieve it manually. Thrown items aren’t lost and you can pull them back out of a body, or off the ground if you should miss.

That said, I opted to go more into a one-handed melee build, and have been very succesful with it. Logan can really dish out the damage when wielding one-handers and still do significant damage at range. One ability you might like to get either way you choose to go is mass driver. The reason for this is, it’s a particularly useful skill to have when dealing with suiciders, as you won’t have to waste ammo and can dispatch while staying at a safe distance.

Logan’s fury skill simply put, is badass. He breaks out the throwing knives and lets them fly almost as quickly as you can press the attack button. When the skill is upgraded, you can take down many zombies at mid range with no problem, during its 10 second duration. I personally saved my rage up and only used it on tougher enemies, like thugs and rams.

I wouldn’t really call Logan a “jack of all trades, master of none”. I’d call him a jack of all trades, master of some. He’s pretty much got one handers and weapon throwing mastered. If your on the fence about playing a ranged character like Purna or a more melee oriented class like Sam B, I think Logan can fill the niche you are looking for. In short, he’s a well-rounded character and I would consider him great for beginners. Below is a list of Logan’s skills and talents.
