It has been confirmed today by Bethesda that players will have the opportunity to take on the role of a vampire in the up and coming open-world RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As has happened in previous games in the Elder Scrolls series, the malady will be contracted and if you can’t find a cure then not only will you becoming a bloodsucking vampire, the entire way in which you play the game will be changed. So how exactly will your experience change? Well let’s just say that you won’t be seeing much of the Skryim sunshine.
As a vampire in the game, sunlight will harm you (as in proper vampire mythology) so you will spend pretty much all of your time skulking around at night which will be an interesting experience especially without time spent in daylight to balance it out. There are some benefits of being a vampire though as you will receive a power boost and can feed upon the living as they sleep in their beds so much fun will be had. I think I might play as a vampire as I just think that it will be an interesting experience and a drastic change from how I usually play RPG games.
What do you think about the opportunity to play as a vampire? Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below and don’t forget that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is released on November 11th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
