So many of you will remember a while back there was this big buzz around something called “Find Makarov“, it seemed to be Call Of Duty related but we really didn’t know what it was. Some thought it was perhaps a viral campaign that would lead to the announcement of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Well it wasn’t. It turned out to be a very good fan-made film that retold several of the vents that have happened in the COD:MW universe. Well it seems that Activision noticed and now we have gotten a follow-up.
Activision contacted the creators of the film and requested a sequel that they would fund this time which means more money and more awesomeness. The new film was shown to fans who attended Call of Duty XP, and now all the rest of us not so lucky saps get a chance to watch it too.
The Activision backed Find Makarov: Operation Kingfish takes the original and amps it up a few notches. The one issue that some have had is that it doesn’t have the unique first-person scenes that the first one had which I am sure was done to maintain what Activision believes to be a high quality experience. Shooting in the first person can add an interesting dimension to a film but some people just don’t like it so I can understand. That seems to be really the only creative kind of constraint that Activision may have imposed, besides that it’s as genius as the original. Anyway, check out Find Makarov: Operation Kingfish and let us know what you think. If you missed the first film, check it out here. Can’t wait for the next one, I mean watching this makes you believe that Call Of Duty could really be a damn good feature film if done right. At the very least, a few of these a year could be a great way to keep fan interest year round. Enough of that, watch the vid. Oh and Dammit Price!!
Who is Kingfish?
