Are you the type of gamer that trades-in a game as soon as you have seen off the last boss or cut-scene? Or are you the type that likes to replay your titles to death, uncovering hidden things and getting the most bang for your buck? If you fall into the latter group then you should be happy with the news that was posted on the official Batman: Arkham City forum recently, which confirmed the existence of a ‘game plus’ mode for the game.
If you weren’t aware, these modes are becoming more and more common in various games, and basically allow players to retrace their steps in a second play-through, but keeping all of the equipment and bonuses they have already accumulated. As well as letting you go back into the city fully tooled up however, Rocksteady hasn’t made it too easy for you as your foes will also be made trickier to dispatch. The mode itself will be unlocked as soon as you beat the main game, either on the normal or hard difficulty setting.
If it’s anything like the last game, Arkham City should reward completionists amply anyway, as Arkham Asylum had both the Riddler’s trophies, patient interviews and his riddles hidden around the locations, making full exploration a must if you wanted to unlock all of the character bios and other extras. Personally I always feel about ready to move onto my next game when I have beaten the current one, but unusually for me I played through all of Arkham Asylum in about three or four days, uncovering every single secret, so hopes are high from this corner of England for more of the same.
