Much hyped first-person shooter Battlefield 3 may be split over two discs for its Xbox 360 release but as far as we are aware the PlayStation 3 version will fit on one Blu-Ray disc. It was a Japanese poster for the game that has sparked this rumour with the poster in question saying that on Xbox 360, Battlefield 3 comes on “DVD-ROM x2” whereas on PlayStation 3, it merely says “BD ROM x1”. If you want to see the poster for yourself than you can here but the question gets asked about how exactly the game will be split.
Will the game require you to swap the disc half-way through the campaign, or will it put the campaign and multiplayer on separate discs in a similar move to Halo 3: ODST which had the campaign on disc 1 and all the multiplayer on disc 2. This news of Battlefield 3 likely to require two discs follows quickly behind the news that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will fit onto to one Xbox 360 DVD but you do think that if there was no multiplayer in BF3 that it would likely be on one disc as well.
