New Nintendo Wii “Slim” Will Be Europe Only Release: North America Will Have to Cope With Overweight Wii

Have you seen the new “Slim” Wii that Nintendo has been mentioning in quiet backroom meetings? No? Well, if you live in North America you can get over it and stop losing sleep over it, because it’s not coming our way any time soon.  (If at all.)  Nintendo of America has recently confirmed that this new, “slimmer” Wii will only be released in Europe.  (So if you have been all self-conscious about having a fat Wii, looks like you’re gonna have to learn to deal with it…)

For our friends across the pond, the new “slim” Wii will come bundled with one Wii MotionPlus Remote, Wii Sports and Wii Party.  However, as an additional downside to not being released in the United States of Awesome, this new Wii will no longer play GameCube titles.  (If you still have GameCube games laying around, we need to talk, but regardless you’re not gonna get to play them anyway on this baby.)

According to Nintendo this slimmed down beauty will be hitting European shelves just in time for the holidays this year.  So hurry out to get your this holiday.

I started gaming when it was nothing more than green screens and clunky keyboards. Today, I play everything and anything that provides for a gaming experience. Good, bad, indifferent, and some times even ugly. I'm here to tell you whats up.
