See the guy standing alone in the picture above? I’m about to tell you why he’s going solo. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Karl Magnus Troedsson (DICE’s general manager ) has announced that there will be no split screen co-op on the highly anticipated Battlefield 3. It’s not all doom and gloom though.
The co-op scenario will feature 6 maps not encountered in the single player campaign, so at least your co-op experience won’t feel like a rerun. The best part of everything said about the co-op, in my opinion is the random elements you can expect from the game. I think this adds a lot of replay value to the co-op experience which is always a good thing especially with only 6 maps. The co-op will be running via peer-to-peer connection which could be advantageous if ever the servers go down for maintenance.
So what do you think guys? Is this a deal breaker for you? To me it’s not, and I’m still really looking forward to its release.
